Wicken Village Hall
Dating from Queen Victoria’s reign, our beautiful old hall has been fully modernised over the years. Located in the centre of the village with plenty of parking, it is available for hire by the day or by the hour.
The hall operates as a charity (registered number 1173591) run by volunteer trustees from the village. The charity’s sole purpose is to provide and maintain the hall and all profits are used to this end. The hall has excellent modern facilities, efficient heating, comfy chairs, easy to put up tables, and the kitchen is clean and easy to use. There is full disabled access with disabled toilets. The Hall has free WiFi available.
Hire charges are very competitive and include use of the chairs, tables, kitchen equipment and the audio visual system.
If you live in Wicken, Padney or Upware there are generous discounts on the hire charges.
The Hall provides the following facilities:
- A large dance or activity area with a polished wooden floor. There is the option to erect a portable stage if required for an additional fee.
- Audio visual system that can play music or DVDs
- Soft seated chairs and a large selection of tables.
- A fully equipped kitchen with cooker, industrial dish washer and microwave.
- A separate smaller room for meetings or smaller groups.
- A bar area with plenty of glassware, tea/coffee mugs, optics, fridge space and a water heater
- A small lawned garden area suitable for BBQs, etc.
The Hall is fully licensed for music, entertainment and the sale of alcohol.

Minimum booking period for weekends is 4 hours, except children’s parties which are minimum 3 hours. ‘Residents’ are defined as people residing in the Parish of Wicken including the hamlets of Upware and Padney. 'Regular Users' are defined as repeated bookings every week or two weeks at the same time for a period of three months or more.
The Hall Committee reserves the right to alter these rates for individual events.
